Midnight Madness Finals Night '08 is the biggest UK basketball event of the summer. For one night only, the UK's best players will do battle on an unrivalled platform. The MM finalists will fight to the last ten standing in front of 8,000 screaming basketball fans at Wembley. The prize? A place on the Midnight Madness travelling team, a US showcase tour and the chance to follow in Luol Deng's footsteps.

All this plus a unique fusion of music, dance and the best of summer fun and good times. In recent years we've brought R&B superstar Chris Brown, dance sensations 'Boy Blue' and 'Flawless', human beatbox SFX and the hottest DJ's on rotation from start to finish. With Busta Rhymes headlining.

We used over 20 5Kw fresnels and 15 MAC 2000 washes to light the basketball court, and Mac 2000 Profile II's to create effects above the court. The audience were washed with nearly 1000 Parcans.

The stage was lit with more parcans, more MAC 2000 Profiles and also MAC 700 units.

Control for the whole arena came from a Avolites Pearl 2004, with back up from a Pearl Tiger.

Production Manager Ian Evans commented, "This was a fantastic production. We took on the challenge of designing a rig to work for a major sports event and incorporate an arena side stage act. With fantastic pre-production and first class crew the rig went in effortlessly and succeeded in achieving its aims of lighting a major sports event and concert. We also found an off license just around the corner that serve crew 24 hours a day! Brilliant."
