The weekend of 18-19th August 2007, saw Utopium Lighting providing a huge ground support truss system and a lighting rig for the Notting Hill Carnival splash 2007.

This years event held at Londons prestigious Alexandra Palace saw over 1500 visitors and nearly 600 cast take to the stage. Over 50 groups from across London took part in the event, showing off some amazing costumes and superbly put together dance routines.

Our Job was to build a 40ft squared ground support truss with only a leg in each corner. This pushed our truss to its limits, but with a brilliant crew, we made the system very secure and safe for the weekends work.
The lighting rig consisted of 12 Mac 500 and 6 Studio Beam moving head fixtures. Par-Cans spread across the truss and legs and LED pars to illuminate the truss itself.
