Utopium have successfully built and lit another film premiere in the hustle and bustle of Leicester Square in London. However this one included two big police cars... in the air!

Utopium were given the task of creating two iconic NYPD Police cars to create an archway for the stage at the Premiere of The Other Guys in London on the 14^th September 2010.
Utopium also provided the lighting for the event as well as a large ground support for the video screen.

The two NYPD police cars were in fact imported into the country from the USA as New York Taxis. A dedicated team from Utopium spent some time converting the cars to look exactly the same as the NYPD cars seen in the film. Making these cars look correct was not the main challenge. We also had to get the cars to sit in the air at 45 degrees. As well as tilting away from each other.
Utopium had a metal work team build a dedicated lift system to hold these cars in position.

An ever growing relationship with LED Screen Hire allows us to create the prefect rigging supports for a wide array of screens.

Lighting for the premiere was provided by an array of Ipix BB4’s around the screen and Molefay to illuminate the red carpet which in this case, was blue.
